"I took lessons with Pat privately for two years. Not only did he help me reach my goal in getting work on cruise ships, but he also was a great mentor to me, keeping me on track and focused on each challenge as it came. Since I started taking lessons with Pat, I noticed a huge improvement in my playing. My technique and attention to the finer details when playing a groove improved greatly. Pat was brilliant in helping me with my sight reading and preparing for several auditions.
I would highly recommend Pat to anyone who is looking for a highly skilled and experienced drum teacher that can help achieve the goals you are looking for on the drum kit and also within the music industry."

“I studied with Pat for 3 years at The Brighton Drum School and the experience completely transformed my playing. I was inspired to adopt Traditional grip and Pat re-worked my technique from the ground up. He gave me new hands. I’ve always been a writer, creating and recording ideas for various projects, and Pat has given me the tools and musical vocabulary to translate my ideas on the drums to greater effect. The time I spent with Pat was invaluable to me and the respect I have for him is beyond measure. Thank you Pat.”

"I don’t even know where to begin… this is one of the easiest reviews I have ever written. Pat is more than just the best drum teacher anyone would be lucky enough to have … he is a mentor too. My son had 3 drum teachers before Pat, they were nice and good too but when my son started with Pat he actually started to learn to play the drums properly. Pat took my son to another level and in the end he smashed his grade 8 with distinction. But Pat was more than a drum teacher, my son loved to chat to him about other things and looked forward to it every session. I don’t think so far he respected anyone as much as he does Pat. Thank you for everything!"

"I met Pat through him guest teaching at a Marshall summer school a number of years ago. Shortly after completing the course i decided to start taking regular lessons with him as i found his way of teaching clear and coherent. Throughout the years i spent being taught by Pat we went over some difficult styles of drumming as well as concepts, techniques and mentoring. Each of these topics were answered with great understanding & knowledge and were presented to me in a comprehensible, logical manner. And i found myself looking forward to each lesson, ready to ask more questions and show him what i’d been working on. I would highly recommend seeking lessons from Pat, whether you’re just starting out or have experience in drumming before and want some tailored advice to you. Great experience!"

"Pat is a fantastic tutor. By far the best teacher/tutor I’ve had. He motivated me to become a more flexible, technically able drummer, but what I found more inspiring was his student-centred approach to teaching. Very grateful to have studied under him."

"Without a doubt, the best drumming lessons I have taken! Pat explains clearly and in detail different techniques and excercises which helps tremendously when practicing alone at home. He also has a vast knowledge of equipment which has helped me with my drumming purchases. He also explains my drumming queries with thorough answers and solutions! Overall the lessons are fun and Pat is professional and friendly!"

"Pat is an incredible teacher! At my most difficult of times, struggling with tendonitis, he helped me explore the traditional grip from zero to hero! Changed my whole perspective of drumming until now! He has been an teacher and a mentor ever since!"

"To put it simply, Pat is best drum teacher around; his ability, patience, and all-round brilliance is un-matched. Pat helped me achieve a distinction in Grade 8, and made a huge difference in my technique, and all round ability as a drummer. Pat isn't only an amazing drum teacher, but a mentor who has changed the person I am today. Thanks for everything Pat :)"

"Pat is not only a technical master and great player in his own right, but is also experienced with people and an excellent communicator. The program available with him at Master Study Studios would allow any motivated student to thrive, I cannot recommend it enough."

"I've been studying with Pat for many years now (8+ years!) and without a doubt I wouldn't be the player I am today or be a working drummer without him. Pats knowledge of the art is simply incredible and his portfolio speaks for it self. Along side being a phenomenal player, he cares a great deal about his students and supports them through every musical endeavour they may have. I wanted a tutor that pushed me every lesson and thats exactly what I got. Pat is extremely professional and wants nothing but for you to be the best you can be."

"I have had the privilege of being taught by Pat for about 8 years and he has helped me on so many levels and helped become the professional drummer I am today. When I first had lessons with Pat, I was self taught and had developed bad habits and he trained me to take apart the bad technique I had constructed and provide detailed, structured and fun lessons that guided me to become a drummer with a solid foundation of technique that I can apply to any musical situation.
Pat is an incredible tutor. I would highly recommend lessons with him on any level"

"The Brighton Drum School is a brilliant place to study the drums. Pat is highly professional, offers an incredible breadth of stylistic experience and technical prowess, and has a unique ability to share his skills and help develop your abilities. I have studied here for over 10 years, have improved many aspects of my drumming, and keep going back for more!"

"I'm a regular reader of Pat's columns in Rhythm Magazine so I thought I'd go for a few lessons and he's the best teacher I've ever had, what he does is a different level altogether.
I'll be studying under Pat's guidance for a long time to come, I'm 57 now and I feel like I'm improving all the time, I can't recommend him enough."

"Having met Pat through a music summer school, I started private lessons for around 4 years. Without a doubt the best tutor around, providing clear, concise instruction and information on both growth with the instrument and the music industry. But most importantly an inspiration! Can’t not recommend getting a lesson with Pat more!"
